Welcome to Rowing!
The Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club is proud to establish a Masters Rowing team on the lake – for adults over the age of 21. We know that 99% of you have never rowed a racing shell, so we ask you to start with our Adult Learn To Row Program. Upon completion, you may join the Club and participate in the Adult Novice Team. We also have an Adult Experienced Team, for athletes who have prior rowing experience. All programs will be co-ed; but depending on numbers, we may move to gender specific teams in the future.
The First Step!
Sign up for our 1.5 hour Learn to Row program ($25). This will give you a small taste of what rowing is about, after that you can sign up for our Adult Novice Team.
Adult Novice Team
For those who enjoyed the Learn to Row, we will start an Adult Co-ed Novice Team with practice three (3) times a week, Monday and Wednesday in the evenings 5:45 pm-7:15 pm and Saturday 9-11 am. This group will continue their work on mastering the technique and hopefully getting some muscle memory along with general fitness, flexibility, strength training and injury prevention. Learning to be a coxswain will be included at this level. Intra-squad racing will be available in the fall, and racing in the spring and summer events will be very limited and only in the Novice/beginning category. After two years on the Novice team, athletes move to the Adult Competitive Team team.
Adult Competitive Team
For those with a minimum of two years rowing and racing experience, the Adult Competitive Team practices Tuesday and Thursday at 5:45-7:15 pm and Saturday 9:00-11 am. This group will race at all major regattas. We currently have over 16 rowers on this team. Contact Jim@LLVRC.org if you are experienced and want to start rowing again.
Practices and lessons will be held at the Lake Las Vegas Boathouse (15 Costa Di Lago) in MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas and the 320-acre private lake.
Lake Las Vegas is conveniently located east off the Galleria Parkway Exit and I-515/U.S. 93/ U.S. 95 or from East Lake Mead Blvd. off the I-215 East Beltway. Upon entering Lake Las Vegas, follow the signage to MonteLago Village.
