As the sole source of junior rowing in all of Nevada, the Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club has a unique opportunity for high school athletes to race for their individual high schools at three Nevada State Rowing Championship events. All of these race will be held on Lake Las Vegas and will have Boys Open, Girls Open, Boys Lightweight and Girls Lightweight events.
- Nevada State Fall Rowing Championship – November 18th – a 5000 meter race on Lake Las Vegas. This is a typical “Head Race” where crews race single file over a long course up the lake around 3 buoys and back to a finish line. The fastest over the course wins the race.
- Nevada State Indoor Rowing Championship – January 27th – a 2000m race on Concept2 rowing machines (ergometers). Everyone will race as their school in the single events and then we will race in 4 person events.
- Nevada State Rowing Championships – April 14th – a 2000 meter race side by side in 8+’s and 4+’s
During the rest of the year the athletes will compete as Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club and race in AZ, CA and hopefully Boston MA, and Sarasota, FL.
