Scholastic Rowing
Make your School a Rowing Team!
Any High School is Eligible?
-
The Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club (LLVRC) is offering a Scholastic Rowing season for up to 3 schools this Fall 2026 (and hopefully up to 6 teams in the fall of 2027).
-
No Experience Necessary. Each team would have a minimum of 8 athletes (4 boys and 4 girls) and a maximum of 18 Athletes (9 boys and 9 girls). All athletes must be in grades 8-12.
- The Athletes would train 3 times a week from Aug 17-November 13. Available practice times are Mon - Fri 4-6 pm, or Sat or Sun 9-11 am.Then on Nov 14th we would race in 5 different events (Boys 4+, 8+, Girls 4+, 8+ and Mixed 8+).
The LLVRC will supply all the equipment, coaches and safety launches for a safe and competitive program. The cost for each athlete will be $400/month Due Aug 24, Sept 21st and Oct 19th. (There are some scholarships available and some potential Corporate sponsorship may lower the fees). Each School will help the students acquire a school race jersey. Each school will NOT have to pay any Liability insurance as the LLVRC has full coverage through USRowing. This limits the school teams so that they will only be able to race each other and not be eligible to race any other schools or club programs outside the LLVRC team.
Getting Started
Talk to your classmates and try to recruit athletes. Have your parents talk to other parents and contact Jim@llvrc.org about starting a scholastic program. Once you have some interest we will talk with the school administrators and see if they are willing to help us recruit more athletes from your school.
